Question: I have someone 17 and under, or 65 and over that wants to hunt with me. What options are available for them to do that?

A person 17 and under or 65 and over may hunt with a paid adult1 as an unpaid hunting guest. All birds taken by paid hunter and unpaid hunting guest will be counted against paid hunters daily bag limit. Limit of one (1) unpaid guest per paid adult, per hunting trip. Hunting guest must remain within normal speaking distance of paid adult at all times. 17 or younger must be closely monitored at all times.
OR
You may purchase a Season Pass and designate as a "Hunting Visitor". A Hunting Visitor may hunt with you under their own daily bag limit.

This policy applies to all Season Passes, whether purchased as an individual or as part of a group. See our FAQ's page or check with TP&W for hunter licensing requirements.

1For our purposes, adult is defined as a person 18 years of age and older. Persons 17 or younger may not purchase any hunting pass, or hunt, without being accompanied by an adult who has completed purchase of a Season Pass. Persons 65 and over may purchase a Season Pass, when hunting independent of another person.

Question: Can I hunt anywhere in the fields?

From September 1st through September 10th, all fields are perimeter hunt only. This means all hunters remain along the perimeter (fence line, tree line, outer edge of crop / field) of each field while hunting. Persons may walk into the field to retrieve a downed bird only. Remember, if you miss them flying into the field, there's always a chance you'll get them coming out.
Between 9/1 and 9/10, you may not;

The perimeter hunt restriction serves two purposes

Click HERE for an example field map that represents how 9/1 reserved sites are laid out along a field perimeter.

After September 10th you may use your judgment, in walking a field or moving into an area away from the perimeter, to hunt. Field pressure is typically lighter after this time, and you may find that you need to move around to keep the birds flying. You are required to be respectful of other hunters in the field and may not walk in or around areas or setup and sit in areas where other hunters are hunting, that creates an unsafe hunting condition.

Hunters may not hunt in any area identified on a map or sign, as a "No Hunting" or "Parking" area, at any time.

For safety, we recommend wearing blaze orange when walking a field or moving into a field and away from the perimeter.

Question: How do I locate / find the active fields, where I can Dove hunt?

For all Season Pass holders, we will provide maps and directions to the Fields, on the website a couple of weeks before the season starts.

Season Pass holders may drive out and view fields at any time prior to September 1st. Persons may drive a UTV/ATV into a field if a path exists, where they will not disturb crops or habitat.

An ID Card will be issued in the name of each paid adult hunter. No ID Card will be issued for unpaid guest. A Hunting Visitor ID Card will be issued in the name of the paid adult, when purchasing a Hunting Visitor pass.

Question: What should I do with the Vehicle Placard?

The Vehicle Placard must be clearly displayed in the front windshield of each vehicle at all times, when that vehicle is driven onto any Dove field. It is recommended that you physically attach the Vehicle Placard with tape, to the lower right corner of the front windshield, to minimize visual impairment and risk of Vehicle Placard being blown from your vehicle. If multiple Individual Season Pass holders are riding in a single vehicle, the Vehicle Placard of the paid adult that owns the vehicle or that is traveling with an unpaid guest or hunting visitor owned vehicle should be displayed. Failure to display the card may result in temporary halting of your hunting, if asked to provide verification by a field marshal, a game warden, land owner, farmer or rancher.

In the event your Vehicle Placard is lost, stolen or misplaced, it is your responsibility to notify us immediately and to request a replacement. You may continue to access fields and hunt while awaiting replacement, so long as you are carrying your ID Card on your person at all times.

Question: What should I do with the ID Card?

The ID Card must be kept on your person at all times, while in any field. We recommend placing the ID card in your wallet or with your hunting license. You may be asked to produce the card while hunting on any property. Failure to produce a valid ID card may result in suspension of your hunting privilege until your information can be confirmed.

In the event your ID Card is lost, stolen or misplaced, it is your responsibility to notify us immediately and to request a replacement. You may continue to access fields and hunt while awaiting replacement, so long as you are displaying your Vehicle Placard in your vehicle at all times, and carrying a valid Resident Hunting, Senior Resident Hunting, Youth Hunting, or Non-Resident hunting license to validate your identity.

Yes, you are welcome to take your dog along to hunt, or just sit in the bed of your truck. Please be respectful and return any birds your dog may retrieve, that are downed by other hunters.
